About Us
We are a team of professionals who are passionate about posture and moving and handling.
Posture and how we are supported is so important to so many aspects of our lives and yet something that is not always considered or is deemed to be ‘part of the aging process’.
Who is Chris Hogan?
Let us tell you about the wonderful, fabulous human that is Chris Hogan.

Chris is living with dementia in a care home. Her god-daughter mentioned to us one day that Chris was spending a lot of time in bed and that she was starting to curl up into a ball.

We offered to go and see her and that was the start of this journey. We have supported Chris with postural care and moving and handling assessments, recommended equipment and reviewed it and is now in place, and trained the carers in how it is used and how it helps her.

Chris is regularly using her chair in the communal areas of the care home. The first time we placed her in the chair she talked to me for a solid 5 minutes about what kind of drink she would like and couldn't stop smiling. It seems like such a small thing for someone to sit in a chair but for Chris it meant "freedom" and inclusion.

Chris reminded us that the reason we left statutory services was because posture isn’t always recognised as an essential need, especially when the person is in a care home. There isn’t funding. And so from that 5 minute conversation which made our hearts melt came, The Chris Hogan CIC.
